How does CIJ work?

The world-leading SureStart Ax-Series printhead features an oscillatory ink droplet generator. This creates ultrasonic waves that apply pressure to the inkjet ink, breaking it up into individual droplets. When these droplets pass between the electrodes, the individual droplets are periodically charged. The amount of charge transferred to each droplet determines how much each droplet will be deflected relative to the stream of droplets passing between the viscovoltage electrodes, which determines the position of the droplet on the product.
